Batman’s Infinite Frontier Story Involves Multiple ‘Oh My God!’ Moments

Many of DC’s biggest icons get exciting, new directions in March’s Infinite Frontier #0, with Batman, in particular, getting several surprise moments.

The bold next era for the DC Universe begins in March with Infinite Frontier, as the classic heroes are joined in a new generation to defend the universe from the cataclysmic threats hinted at in Future State.

The era begins with the Infinite Frontier #0 special, overseen by writer Joshua Williamson and featuring a whole roster of superstar comic book creators in a collection of short stories. Among the included stories are two installments written by Batman scribe James Tynion IV, with Williamson hinting at big things to come from his story.

“James [Tynion IV] wrote a chapter with Alan Scott and wrote the Batman chapter and, because I know James so well, I knew James had the Batman chapter [without my input]; he knows Batman better than anybody, he’ll be fine,” Williamson told CBR. “I read it and it’s amazing and Jorge [Jimenez’s] pages were amazing and then I realized how much of a big deal it is.”

Williamson wrote the overarching structure for the special, along with a few of chapters. While Williamson met with the other writers over video conferences as the showrunner for the overall story, he was still surprised by Tynion IV and Jimenez’s tale when he saw it finished and anticipates fans will be excited by what they see.

“There are moments that I think are pretty big — three or four moments in his story alone — one that really grabbed me. It’s one thing to know about it and another to actually see it,” Williamson continued. “I think there a few moments where people are definitely going to be like ‘Oh my god!’ People are going to be cheering for a couple different moments that happen through it.”

Infinite Frontier #0 goes on sale March 2 from DC.
