The Red Omega Ranger might be losing his grip on his own team in ways that could seriously harm them and the universe.

A monster powerful enough to commit planetary genocide in an instant is certainly enough to make otherwise clear heads question their tactics, and that’s exactly what the Omega Rangers are up against. After returning to Earth to speak to Zordon, as well as question Drakkon, they plead with their former mentor to release Drakkon into their custody, which Zordon fervently denies. Left with no other apparent options, the Omega Rangers kidnapped the tyrant, dragging him along with them into space in the hopes that his knowledge of their impending threat will help them stave it off. So far, all they’ve managed to accomplish is brand themselves as outlaws, and one of their closest allies is now seriously questioning their team leader.
From the bridge of the Omega Rangers’ ship, the Spectrum II, Jason and Xi discuss their trajectory and flight path, the one provided to them by Drakkon. Jason tries to make light of their situation, but Xi is more concerned with conversing the consequences of the team’s actions. Now that Zordon is calling in every favor he has looking for them, the Omega Rangers are officially intergalactic outlaws. Though Xi is more than willing to agree that Drakkon is a valuable asset to them in their hunt for, and presumably fight against the Empyreals, the methods they employed to get where they have him more than a little worried, not to mention having newfound doubts as to Jason’s leadership.
The two aren’t able to see eye to eye, and Jason mentions that the Blue Emissary chose him, not his robotic compatriot to lead the team. This doesn’t go over well, as Xi is quick to point out that not only was the Blue Emissary not a god but that their blind trust in others is what ultimately led to their downfall. Still, the threat of the Empyreals is too great for Jason to reconsider his point, stating that Drakkon claimed to have seen one slay the Red Emissary, and after the Omega Rangers watched one annihilate an entire planet, that doesn’t sound like something the former tyrant just made up.
