The Anti-Life virus has been laying waste to one version of the DC Universe since Darkseid accidentally unleashed it. Although the virus has overtaken the minds and bodies of many heroes, villains and scores of civilians, there’s still been some hope in the form of a possible cure that could be utilized by the likes of the new Justice League and their allies in the Gotham Jungle. After venturing into the cosmos and getting to put Cyborg briefly into the Mobius Chair, the heroes may have even cracked the code to the cure.

Once a version of the cure is finalized, the heroes debate who to try it out on — with Scott Free making the point that it makes sense to test it on his wife Barda instead of on Green Arrow. He reasons that her New God physiology might give her an edge of surviving the cure if it doesn’t work properly, which could take away any unnecessary risk to Green Arrow. Canary ultimately agrees and accompanies Superman and Mister Miracle to find Barda. It turns out that following her infection during the events of DCeased: A Good Day to Die, Scott was able to lure Barda to a moon near Alpha Centauri. On this peaceful and uninhabited planetoid, Mister Miracle was able to chain her up, keeping her from killing anyone else while ensuring she herself wasn’t killed by the survivors.
