As Spider-Man fights Kindred, Miles Morales and Peter Parker’s allies are destroying Manhattan, and they just decimated an entire Marvel team.

As his long-simmering conflict with the mysterious Kindred comes to a boil, Spider-Man just found himself in the worst possible predicament, as he made the poor decision to go into the Astral Plane alone and fell into Kindred’s trap. This means he can’t be in the real world, defending it from his former friends like Miles Morales and Spider-Woman, who’ve fallen under the sway of the supernatural villain. From the looks of it, no one can stop them right now, and this includes the reunited New Warriors.
In the most recent tie-in issue of Amazing Spider-Man, Peter’s friends were not just running rampant, but they were destroying the entire city in the name of Kindred. The problem is that no one knows they are anything but, as the news reporters call them, the “not so friendly neighborhood Spider-People.” This is a way for Kindred to help ruin Spider-Man’s reputation as he seeks to punish Peter Parker for his perceived sins.
In Manhattan, the possessed members of the Spider-Totem were wreaking havoc and destroying everything in sight as Miles Morales, Silk, Spider-Girl, Spider-Woman, Spider-Gwen, and Madame Web were decimating the town. The news called them Spider-Man Impersonators and seemed excited to see that the New Warriors showed up to end the chaos. However, while the news crews asked if this was a cult of Spider-Man worshippers or something worse, the Kindred warriors soundly defeated the New Warriors and moved on.
It seems almost ironic that the New Warriors were the team that the possessed heroes defeated. They broke up a few years back but were supposed to reunite this year in the wake of Kamala’s Law, which outlawed underaged superheroes.
The new New Warriors were to include Night Thrasher, Firestar, Rage, Speedball, Namorita, and Silhouette reuniting to help train the next generation of superheroes, the only legal way an underage superhero could train. Following a major backlash and COVID-19 delays, the new New Warriors series has not yet been published. However, the team still exists from the look of it, but they went down in a blaze of glory in this cameo appearance.
