Tony Stark Puts His New Armor to the Test in Issue #1 Preview

Marvel Comics has released a preview for this Wednesday’s Iron Man #1, teasing a brand new direction for the Armored Avenger.

Marvel Comics has released a preview for Iron Man #1 from the creative team of Christopher Cantwell (Doctor Doom) and CAFU, which arrives in comic shops this Wednesday, Sept. 16. The pages showcase the Armored Avenger in a battle with Terrax the Terrible; the ensuing fight sends them crashing into a satellite. As he fights, Tony talks to his new AI — B.O.S.S — about withdrawing from Stark Industries and “getting back to his roots”.

Getting back to Iron Man’s roots has served as the center of Cantwell’s vision for the series. To that end, Tony is donning a new suit of armor designed by veteran artist Alex Ross (who also created the cover) and facing classic threats, including the cosmically-powered Michael Korvac.
