Yuasa Masaaki Announces New Movie Project INU-OH!



Japanese production company Science SARU and its production and distribution partner Asmik Ace has announced that acclaimed director Yuasa Masaaki ( Devilman Crybaby, The Night is Short, Walk on Girl ) is set to direct a new anime movie titled INU-OH, set for release in 2021!

An adaptation of Furukawa Hideo’s novel Heike Monogatari: Inu-Oh no Maki, the story is inspired by the life of 14th century Sarugaku Noh performer and playwright Inu-oh. The film will be a musical extravaganza incorporating modern day music and dance.

For INU-OH, Yuasa will once again team up with manga artist Matsumoto Taiyou ( Ping Pong, Tekkonkinkreet: Black and White ). Meanwhile, Nogi Akiko ( I am a Hero, We Married as a Job! ), will be handling the script for an animated movie for the first time.

INU-OH is set for release in 2021.
