Live Action Rurouni Kenshin Back in 2020 With Two Films!

Rurouni Kenshin‘s live action series will be back in summer 2020 with two new films for its final chapter.

The two films will be based on the Jinchu arc, the conclusion to the original manga. The first will revolve around the “mystery of the cross-shaped scar” that Kenshin bears, while the second will follow his clash against the series’ most terrifying enemy, Enishi.

Based on Watsuki Nobuhiro’s manga, the Rurouni Kenshin live action film series began in 2012 and went on to produce two sequels. The new films will mark six years since the release of the last title, Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends.

Series lead Satou Takeru will once again play legendary swordsman Himura Kenshin, with Otomo Keishi also back to direct the films.
