Tokyo Ghoul Live Action Sequel Releases New Trailer!



Upcoming live action movie Tokyo Ghoul S has released its latest trailer, showcasing Matsuda Shouta as “Gourmet” ghoul Tsukiyama Shu for the first time!

The trailer features a host of familiar faces, first and foremost protagonist and half-ghoul Kaneki Ken (played by Kubota Masataka). Another highlight is the appearance of Matsuda as Tsukiyama, who desperately wants to eat Kaneki.

Additional members of the creative team have also been announced, with Mikasano Chuji (who handled the script for the TV anime) writing the screenplay and Kawasaki Takuya and Hiramaki Kazuhiko co-directing. The movie will also feature costume design by Morikawa Masanori of Tokyo-based fashion brand Christian Dada.

Tokyo Ghoul S is the the sequel to the Tokyo Ghoul franchise’s first live-action movie, which first premiered in Jul. 2017. Based on Ishida Sui’s popular manga of the same name, the story is set in a world where humans are often preyed upon by ghouls, powerful creatures who look human but must consume their flesh to survive.

Tokyo Ghoul S will open in cinemas across Japan on Jul. 19.
