Anisong streaming service ANiUTa has selected J-pop artist Asaka as its artist of the month for Mar. 2019!
Hailing from Nagoya, Asaka debuted in 2016 when she was just 17 with “Open your eyes”, the ending theme for paranormal anime Occultic;Nine. Her stage name is derived from the Japanese characters for Blooming Flower of Asia. Her experience living in America when she was a child gave her good English skills, and she was inspired by industry legends like May’n (Sheryl Nome in Macross Frontier ) to pursue the path of an anisong singer.
Currently, Asaka is signed to 5pb. Records, and her latest titles include “Edelweiss” and “Shiny Days”, used as the ending theme for A Centaur’s Life and the opening theme for Yuru Camp△ respectively.
Those keen to see more of Asaka can start with the video message and concert footage below, as well as the ANiUTa app.
