Speculation about the potential cancellation of Netflix’s Daredevil has abounded following the cancellations of Iron Fist and Luke Cage over the course of two successive weeks. As Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, actor Vincent D’Onofrio has played a major role on the streaming series, and he doesn’t think the show is going to end any time soon.
D’Onofrio responded to a tweet claiming Netflix and Marvel were aiming to cancel Daredevil following the release of its third season earlier this month, simply writing, “Nope.”

Although he seems quite certain Daredevil won’t meet the same fate as his fellow Defenders team members, D’Onofrio’s tweet doesn’t necessarily mean that Daredevil won’t get cancelled, as there’s no official word on whether the show is renewed for another season. However, the actor’s certainty will likely give hope to those afraid for the Man Without Fear’s future.
Actor Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil, said earlier this week he wasn’t sure if the show would return for a fourth season. New showrunner Erik Oleson was similarly uncertain about the prospects of a fourth season, but undoubtedly more optimistic about the chances of the show continuing. A new report, released on Tuesday, indicates social-media buzz for the Marvel Netflix dramas has decreased dramatically over time, which led to the cancellation of Iron Fist and Luke Cage.
