My Hero Academia to Get Live Action Hollywood Movie!

Superhero manga My Hero Academia will be making its Hollywood debut thanks to a live action movie adaptation to be produced by Legendary Entertainment!

While details are still scarce, it has been revealed that Alex Garcia and Jay Ashenfelter of Legendary and Yoritomi Ryousuke of Shueisha are working on the project. Toho is to distribute the movie in Japan.

Originally created by Horikoshi Kouhei and currently running in Weekly Shonen Jump, My Hero Academia is set in a world in which possessing superpowers known as “Quirks” is the norm. The series follows Midoriya Izuku (known as Deku), a Quirkless student of superhero academy U.A. High School. It has already gone through three TV anime seasons with a fourth on its way, plus a movie that premiered to great success both in Japan and in other countries earlier this month.
