Barry Allen will be late yet again, as the upcoming Flash solo movie won’t go into production until late next year.
Variety reports that the Ezra Miller-led superhero flick has to accommodate for the actor’s schedule, which mostly includes the third Fantastic Beasts film, itself beginning to shoot starting in July. The movie was expected to begin shooting in March for a 2020 release, but now, it looks like The Flash won’t happen until 2021. The issues don’t just lie with Miller’s schedule, as apparently the script still needed some fine-tuning before getting Warner Bros.’ full approval.

Miller first came into the DC Extended Universe with cameos in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and later Suicide Squad, and then he had a starring role in last year’s Justice League. There have been rumors that his film would fully, or at least partially, adapt the 2011 comic book storyline Flashpoint, which later led to DC Comics rebooting with the New 52. Originally, the Flash movie was going to be directed by Dope director Rick Famuyiwa, but has since been taken over by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, writers of last year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
