Held from Sept. 20-23 at Chiba’s Makuhari Messe, Tokyo Game Show 2018 brought together a whopping 668 exhibitors under the theme “Welcome to the Next Stage”! The space was fully loaded with new titles and services for consoles, smartphones, and PCs, as well as stage events aplenty, with several highlighting e-Sports. It was also an especially international year with 330 exhibitors from overseas.
As usual, the event’s four-day run was split into business days and public days. 298,690 visitors were recorded in total, with Tokyo Otaku Mode also excited to be a part of the festivities as a TGS media partner! At the Tokyo Otaku Mode Live Stream Hut, fans could enjoy special talks, gaming sessions and giveaways – even those who couldn’t make it to Tokyo this year!
As for the rest of TGS, just about anywhere the eye could see were exciting displays and of course, demos for games of all sorts, including the long-awaited RPG Kingdom Hearts III, fighting game Kill la Kill: IF, VR visual novel Tokyo Chronos, and much more!
Established companies like Square Enix and Bandai Namco definitely made a splash not only with the games themselves, but also their stunning booths and stage events! Just a glance around the huge space was enough to set any gamer’s heart racing.
In a place where so many gaming companies are coming together, you can also expect A+ cosplay – official or otherwise!
If 2018 is any indication, TGS is only going to get more amazing next year. See you there!
