Rob Liefeld Working on ‘Huge X-Men Crossover’ for 2019

Comics creator Rob Liefeld is working on a new X-Men project for Marvel.

“I have a new project, 2019, it’s a huge X-Men crossover,” Liefeld reportedly said while on a panel at Wizard World Comic Con in Austin, according to MovieWeb. “It’s awesome…Marvel called me up last Thanksgiving and said, ‘We want you to do a big story.’ I said well, let’s see if they’ll go for this, and I tried to do something no one has done before. So I gave them this pretty aggressive proposal for an event and I can’t say what it is, I can’t say what it involves, got a lot of new stuff.”

Exactly what Liefeld’s crossover may involve is unclear, as it has not yet been confirmed by Marvel. As such, the crossover’s title, release date and the creative team(s) involved are not currently known.

Liefeld is known for his work on X-Force and New Mutants. During his time at Marvel, Liefeld co-created Deadpool and Cable, both of whom starred in the recent Deadpool 2. After leaving Marvel, Liefeld went on to co-found Image comics alongside such illustratious creators as Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee and Erik Larsen.
