AMC’s The Walking Dead executive producer David Alpert has teased fans with the possibility that Rick Grimes’ daughter Judith could grow up and lead the team at Alexandria at some point in the show’s future.
“I used to say Carl would grow up and have kids and that his kids would take over with all his grandkids, so obviously it can’t work like that,” Alpert told Huffington Post. “But Judith, she’s a little ass-kicker. I think it’s possible we could see Judith grow up and take over the whole team.”

As TWD isn’t afraid to take a time-jump, there’s some chance this may actually happen, although it’s unlikely to occur in the upcoming ninth season. Also, with leaders like Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) departing this season, and Rick’s son Carl (Chandler Riggs) killed off last year, no one can tell what the power vacuum will look like in the future.
The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Lennie James, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The series returns on October 9 for its ninth season on AMC at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
