Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President and the man most consider responsible for the growth and expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will receive an honorary BAFTA for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment.
“Kevin has propelled the Marvel brand to new heights, harnessing the very best international talent, with an unprecedented track record of back-to-back success,” BAFTA Los Angeles chairman Kieran Breen said in a statement.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has released three movies this year (Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp) and intends to release three more in 2019 (Captain Marvel, Avengers 4 and Spider-Man: Far From Home), have two of the highest grossing movies of all time with Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. Collectively, the 20 MCU movies to hit the big screen have earned over $17 billion at the box office.
Feige is scheduled to receive the BAFTA award on October 26 at the British Academy Britannia Awards. The Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment is presented to people who have a noticeable impact on the world of film. Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave) and Cate Blanchett (Thor: Ragnarok) will also receive awards at the event.
