Netflix has confirmed the release date for the third season of Marvel’s Daredevil with the release of a new promo and poster.
The date of Friday, Oct. 19, shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to those paying close attention, as it surfaced just last week on the Twitter account of Netflix Thailand. But the promo and poster are definitely new.

In keeping with the Iron Fist Season 2 post-credits stinger, and the previous poster, the new promo signals a descent by Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) into darkness following the events of Marvel’s The Defenders.
“You can suffocate evil,” Cox says in voiceover as the image cuts between a bloodied Matt and footage from the upcoming season, “starve it, lock it behind bars. But it will find a way to come back even stronger. There’s only one true way to end evil: to finish it for good. Let the devil out.”

Amid the quick cuts of Matt, in both his civilian and vigilante attire, are shots of someone we can safely presume is Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk wearing the Kingpin’s signature white jacket from the comic books. With that realization, Matt’s soliloquy comes in to better focus — particularly the phrase “lock it behind bars.”
Arriving Oct. 19 on Netflix, Daredevil Season 3 stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Joanne Whaley, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Wilson Bethel.
