Iron Fist Showrunner Teases Potential Blindspot Plans

During a recent question-and-answer session, Iron Fist showrunner M. Raven Metzner hinted that, yes, we may get a look at Blindspot in future seasons of the Netflix series.

Metzner fielded questions from fans on Twitter, including one asking if the character credited as Sam, played by James Chen, was, indeed, Samuel Chung, also known as Blindspot. Metzner confirmed the theory, saying, “The characters name on the call sheet is Samuel Chung. [James Chen] is a great actor and a great guy and I love the character Blindspot. You can infer the rest.”

Following a cryptic tweet from Daredevil writer and Blindspot co-creator Charles Soule earlier this year, many had theorized Blindspot could make his live-action debut on Iron Fist this season. Although Chung’s alter ego didn’t appear this season, Metzner’s comments leave open the possibility that the character might just have a bigger role in Netflix’s superhero shows going forward.

Blindspot, a relatively new addition to Daredevil’s mythology, debuted in December 2015. Sam was a skilled gymnast in China before making his way to the United States, where he developed a supersuit that rendered him invisible to the naked eye. Taking up the name Blindspot, Chung became a protégé of Daredevil, receiving significant martial arts training from the hero.
