Dean Cain Volunteers to Play Worlds of DC’s New Superman

With Henry Cavill possibly out as Superman, other actors are lobbying to take on the part of Big Blue. Some include those who have donned the blue tights and red cape before, like Dean Cain.

Cain, who played the role of Clark Kent/Superman on the ABC romantic comedy Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman in the ’90s, tweeted a photo of himself sitting at a restaurant. He captioned the tweet, “I have been on a long-needed vacation. My son is now 18. I hear they’re looking for a new #Superman. Is there an age qualification?”

The tweet begs the question: Is Cain is speaking for himself, his son or maybe both of them. He also used the hashtag #LoisAndClarkReboot followed by a question mark, crazy-face emoji and a thumbs up, indicating he is entertaining a comeback, if only jokingly.

After four seasons on Lois & Clark, Dean Cain has never been far from the Superman extended universe. He showed up on Smallville in 2007 playing Curtis Knox, an alternate version of DC villain Vandal Savage. More recently, he had a recurring role on Supergirl as Kara’s adoptive dad, Jeremiah Danvers.
