Eddie Brock Learns to Cooperate to Survive in New TV Spot

The latest TV spot for Sony’s Venom offers clues to how Eddie Brock bonds with the titular symbiote.

While investigating the nefarious business dealings of Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed), Brock appears to break into the top-secret medical labs where Drake’s company conducts illegal, dangerous experiments. In the confusion, Brock and the symbiote become bonded.

While Brock adapts to his insidious bond with the inhuman lifeform, complete with newfound super powers, the symbiote informs its human host that they must learn to cooperate if they hope to survive being hunted by Drake’s men. The TV spot then ends with the investigative reporter seeking refuge in a dingy bar for a quick drink.

“Aren’t you Eddie Brock?” asks a bar patron.

“I used to be,” Brock replies.

With Brock and the symbiote now irrevocably linked, the two will have to become one if they hope to survive a new wave of symbiote-powered enemies hunting them.

Swinging into theaters on October 5, director Ruben Fleischer’s Venom stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, and Riz Ahmed as Carlton Drake/Riot.
