Mecha anime Macross Frontier will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its anime premiere with a new single titled “Good job!” from singer May’n and voice actress Nakajima Megumi!
In the anime, May’n was the singing voice behind “Galactic Fairy” Nome Sheryl, while Nakajima portrayed “Super-Dimension Cinderella” Ranka Lee. The two have reunited for the anime’s first new single in seven years, produced by Kanno Youko (who also handled music for the TV anime and movies).
In the universe of Macross, “Good job!” is a commercial tie-in song related to part-time jobs in the galaxy, recorded before the final battle in 2059. It focusses on a space waitress who is way too worried about everything going according to plan.
The jacket photo for “Good job!” was illustrated by Ebata Risa, the character designer for Macross Frontier. The single also comes with two other tracks: “Ranka to Brand New Peach” by Nakajima and “Go~rgeous” by May’n, plus the instrumental versions for all three tracks.
“Good job!” launches on Sept. 26 and will retail for 1,300 yen (pre-tax).
