Slim Shady is set to take on Venom — or rather, the film’s soundtrack.
The news was revealed by Eminem himself, who posted a teaser of his new song on both Twitter and Instagram. You can listen to the short clip below.

While Eminem’s involvement in a film like Venom may seem strange initially, it’s worth noting that the rapper is a noted comic book fan, often referencing both Marvel and DC comic characters in a fair amount of his music, including “Superman,” “River,” and “Rap God” just to name a few. Not to mention, he has even been turned into a Marvel Comics character with 2009’s Eminem/The Punisher. So, while possibly “out there,” the choice to have someone like Eminem produce an original song for Sony’s Venom actually makes plenty of sense.
Unfortunately, though, as the rapper simply tagged the official Venom movie account along with the tease, little is known about the song. Such as, when will it be released in full? Will this be a lone song for the film, or will Eminem opt to craft an entire album for the feature, a la Kendrick Lamar’s acclaimed Black Panther soundtrack? That remains to be seen. For now, fans can enjoy the above snippet until the full song drops — hopefully soon!
