Netflix has renewed the British dark comedy series The End of the F***ing World for a second season.
The news was confirmed by the show’s Twitter account via a spoiler-filled video recapping the final moments of Season 1, with a simple caption: “We’ll be f***ing back.”

Creator Charlie Covell will return to write the follow-up season, which will continue to be adapted from Charles Forsman’s comic series of the same name. The show — adapted for British television and aired last October on UK’s Channel 4 — is based on Forsman’s story of James (played by Black Mirror’s Alex Lawther), a self-proclaimed psychopath who joins the rebellious and foul-mouthed Alyssa (Penny Dreadful’s Jessica Barden) in running away from their small town.
It debuted on Netflix in January this year, detailing how James went from trying to kill Alyssa to falling in love with her in a coming-of-age story which, as the video clip below shows, ended (or so we thought) on a very shocking note.

While no casting information has been announced, what’s known is that the second season will once again air first on UK’s Channel 4 before premiering on Netflix, although this premiere date is also yet to be revealed.
Season 2 will be produced by Clerkenwell Films and Dominic Buchanan Productions, with Murray Ferguson, Ed Macdonald, Andy Baker, Dominic Buchanan, and Jonathan Entwistle serving as executive producers.
The End of the F***ing World Season 1 is available to stream now on Netflix.
