Arrow Showrunner Teases Title for Season 7’s Fourth Episode

Arrow showrunner Beth Schwartz is keeping fans in the dark for a few things leading into the show’s seventh season.

Earlier today, Schwartz tweeted out the cover page for episode four of the upcoming season, but unlike other reveals, this one had the title blacked out. Since the first three episode titles had already been unveiled, the showrunner’s secrecy (and use of the ‘mind-blown’ and ‘lips-sealed’ emojis in her tweet) seem to indicate a major spoiler, either for that episode or the ones leading up to it. Fans are speculating everything from a reunion between characters to a Black Siren-centric tale, or even an attempt at a prison break for Oliver.

The tweet also revealed that the episode is co-written by Emilio Ortega Aldrich (who has written a number of episodes of the show) and Tonya Kong (Daredevil), and it will be directed by Ben Bray. This is Schwarz’s first season running Arrow after her promotion from co-executive producer to executive producer and sole showrunner was announced earlier this year.

The first episode of the season, “Inmate 4587,” will seemingly focus on Oliver Queen and the team as they deal with their leader’s imprisonment. Star Stephen Amell has indicated on social media that this might be the most action-packed season yet, and fans can look forward to seeing a new side of Queen now that his secret identity has been revealed to the world at large.

Season 7 of Arrow premieres Monday, Oct. 15 at 8 pm, and stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary and Katie Cassidy as Black Siren.
