Michael Bay Is Not Producing Dora the Explorer Movie

Contrary to early reports, producer Michael Bay has nothing to do with the upcoming live-action adaptation of the children’s favorite Dora the Explorer.

Following the release Monday of the first look at Transformers: The Last Knight star Isabela Moner as the beloved character, a representative for Bay clarified that neither the filmmaker nor his Platinum Dunes production company is involved with the project. From the tone of the tweet, signed by the “webmaster,” it’s clear that repeated, erroneous reports of Bay’s participation have gotten under his skin.

The mistake can be traced back to October 2017, with the announcement of the live-action film by Entertainment Weekly and other outlets. It’s unclear how Bay’s name found its way into those early reports, but once there it was repeated again and again.
