Sword Art Online Season 3 to Hold Premiere in 7 Countries!

Aniplex has announced that the third season of popular anime Sword Art Online will premiere with a special one-hour episode in 7 countries: Japan, America, Australia, France, Germany, Russia, and Korea.

Based on the Dengeki Novel Prize-winning light novel series by Kawahara Reki, Sword Art Online is a science fiction anime which follows talented gamer Kirito through various VRMMORPG adventures. Following two seasons of the TV anime, it made the jump to the big screen in 2017 with Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale and took in over 4.3 billion yen worldwide at the box office.

In the anime’s third season, titled Sword Art Online: Alicization, Kirito finds himself inside a FullDive fantasy RPG. Unable to remember how he got there, he must search for a way out of the game with Eugeo, an NPC who seems to have similar emotions to a real world human, and a girl with blonde hair named Alice.

The Japan premiere will be held at Tokyo International Forum Hall C along with a special event featuring main cast members Matsuoka Yoshitsugu (Kirito), Tomatsu Haruka (Asuna), Kayano Ai (Alice) and more. Attendees at every world premiere event will also receive a bonus illustration.

Sword Art Online: Alicization is slated to air on Tokyo MX, BS11, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, MBS, TV Aichi, and AbemaTV in Oct. 2018.
