LOOK: Netflix’s Millarworld Logos | CBR

Netflix announced its intentions to get involved in the super hero game when they bought the rights to the so-called “Millarworld” of comics. Serving as the imprint for his new independent stories, Millarworld has provided Mark Millar (Civil War) with a bulk of his most recent work. Netflix previously announced the first slate of Millarworld adaptations, and have now released the logos for the five projects. The streaming giant announced a partnership with the publisher last year.

Of the five announced projects, two will be television series and three will be feature films. The two television shows will be Jupiter’s Legacy and American Jesus. Jupiter’s Legacy will center around super heroes from the past coming out of retirement to stand against their out of control children. The series is being executive produced by Steven DeKnight, who worked as a producer for Daredevil. American Jesus will be a Spanish-language television series, following a twelve year old boy who may actually be the second coming of Jesus Christ.

The three films will be based on Empress, Huck, and Sharkey the Bounty Hunter. Empress follows the queen to an intergalactic horde. When she goes on the run from her vicious husband alongside their children, it turns into a full fledged chase across the galaxy. The film is being written by Lindsey Beer (Sierra Burgess is a Loser). Huck will follow the titular Huck, a kindly gas station worker who uses his extraordinary powers to help people around his home town. Sharkey the Bounty Hunter is the only project that is based off a comic that hasn’t been released yet. The film (and presumably the comic too) center around a spacefaring bounty hunter and the young man that’s under his protection. That film is being written by Michal Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World).
