The live action movie adaptation of popular manga Bleach has released a new trailer narrated by Morita Masakazu, who voiced Ichigo in the TV anime.
In his iconic Ichigo voice, Morita urges the protagonist to live with passion and protect his loved ones.
Author Kubo Tite has also given an eager endorsement of the adaptation. While not involved in the movie’s production, Kubo had expressed his wishes for the characters to stay unchanged and for there to not be any contradictions between their emotions and actions. Having seen the adaptation, he has praised its faithfulness to his original work as well as the unusually high production values and high octane action.
Bleach follows the story of not-so-ordinary high school boy Kurosaki Ichigo, who is suddenly confronted by a mysterious Soul Reaper named Rukia and receives her powers to fight evil supernatural creatures known as Hollows.
Bleach is slated to premiere in Japan on Jul. 20.
