Violet Evergarden Film to Premiere Worldwide in Jan. 2020!

Popular light novel series and anime Violet Evergarden has announced a new film will have a simultaneous worldwide premiere in Jan. 2020!

The big news was accompanied by a visual and trailer, which promises a completely new story for the next adaptation.

Violet Evergarden began as a light novel that was published from Dec. 2015 to Mar. 2018. Written by Akatsuki Kana and illustrated by Takase Akiko, it was first adapted into an anime in Jan. 2018, with an OVA also released.

The series focuses on the titular protagonist, an orphan who was caught in the middle of a devastating and widespread war. Gifted to military officer Gilbert Bougainvillea, she was taught and raised as though she were his own. After his untimely death, Evergarden decides to take up a new job as an Auto Memory Doll; someone who helps others by writing the thoughts and feelings they cannot properly articulate themselves. After all, maybe helping others navigate their words will help her fully comprehend the last words Bougainvillea uttered to her: “I love you.”
