Edgar Wright Teases a Sequel to Baby Driver


Baby Driver director Edgar Wright teased a potential sequel to his music-fueled action movie today, one year after the film first hit theaters. Wright posted a teaser image to Twitter that depicts an outline of Ansel Elgort’s Baby and a car speeding away from the illustration.

Baby Driver was released one year ago today,” Wright said. “Had a wild ride with it in the last 365 days, so I thank you for all your beautiful responses, it means everything. And who knows, maybe he could get back on the road soon…”

Baby Driver ended with Baby being sentenced to prison after he was arrested for aiding criminals as their getaway driver, among other things. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison but was released on parole after five years. At the end of his sentence, he was reunited with Debora (Lily James), the film’s main love interest.

The likelihood of Baby Driver getting a sequel is high, as the film made an impressive mark at the box office, netting $226.9 million on a budget of $34 million. The film was also a success among critics and audiences, enjoying a “fresh” designation on Rotten Tomatoes with a 93 percent rating for critics and 86 percent among audiences.
