Writer Gene Luen Yang has revealed the first artwork for his upcoming graphic novel, Superman Smashes the Klan, for the DC Zoom middle-grade imprint.
The first look comes courtesy of a post to Yang’s personal website, where he shared his thoughts on the final issue of New Super-Man, which is in stores this week.

Though an artist isn’t credited, it does show Superman standing confidently among Lois Lane and Jimmy Olson. To Superman’s right are a young boy and girl, and to his left next to Jimmy is an African-American gentleman in a trenchcoat and hat.
The official press release for DC Zoom and DC Ink, which is geared towards the young adult audience, included the news that Superman Smashes the Klan will first be released as periodicals before being collected.
