DC Universe, Warner Bros.’ new streaming service, could launch by the end of summer.
“We are about to launch, I think, late August, our DC digital platform, which will be a hub for all things DC,” DC Entertainment Community Manager Dani Snow said during an appearance on the James Bond fan podcast James Bonding.

Announced in April 2017, the new digital platform was branded as DC Universe last month, with the promise that it will feature a mix of older DC adaptations alongside new, original content.
“Right now, we’re working on getting everything from the back catalog of animated TV shows and movies on there now, but we will also be producing,” Snow confirmed. “I think, right now, we have four in production, original shows, including Swamp Thing.”

In addition to Swamp Thing, from filmmaker James Wan, DC Universe is also producing a live-action Titans series, a continuation of fan-favorite animated series Young Justice — called Young Justice: Outsiders — and a live-action Doom Patrol series. An animated Harley Quinn series, with Margot Robbie expected to reprise her role as the title character, and a live-action series titled Metropolis, following the adventures of Lois Lane and Lex Luthor, are also in development.
Poised to become the premier location to stream DC-inspired films and TV series, DC Universe is also expected to house an extensive collection of digital comics in its catalog. “There will be digital movies, TV shows that you can watch, streaming,” Show said. “We’re going to have a lot of comics on there. There’s going to be a lot of good stuff on there.”
