Batman #50 Variant Cover by Joe Jusko Features Stunning Catwoman

Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle’s wedding is fast approaching and everyone is excited for the big day, including fans and characters inside the DC Universe. A huge wedding of this magnitude also means creators are just as excited as readers, and this shows in a beautiful variant cover by artist Joe Jusko for Batman #50, featuring Catwoman.

Jusko’s variant cover is a Midtown Comics exclusive, and it perfectly captures the bride-to-be and all the chaos that will most likely come with marrying the Dark Knight.

Ornate with stunning black lace, Selina’s lavender and black wedding gown is stunning as the centerpiece of this dramatic spectacle. Sprawled gracefully on what looks to be a fur carpet in the shape of a cat head on the ground, Catwoman is holding her bouquet of flowers and surrounded by different pieces of Batman iconography: large Batman’s Batarangs, black cats and parts of her Catwoman costume.

Alas, the beautiful roses that lay next to Selina are riddled with thorns and the visual imagery of the Clown Prince of Crime overwhelms the Bat and the Cat, with Joker playing cards by the dozens littering the cover.

As seen in Tom King and Clay Mann’s “Your Big Day” short story in DC Nation #0 and the Batman: Prelude to the Wedding one-shots, the Clown Prince of Crime is celebrating this union in his own twisted and deadly way, causing everyone to wonder if Catwoman will make it down the aisle with all nine lives.

Written by Tom King and illustrated by Mikel Janin and a special array of artists including Mikel Janin, Jason Fabok, David Finch, Joelle Jones, Mitch Gerads, Batman #50 arrives in stores on July 4.
