Although it’s Thanos’ misguided desire to bring balance to the universe that drives the events of Avengers: Infinity War, Star-Lord has been heaped with scorn because of a single act, which permitted the Mad Titan to gain the upper hand. And Chris Pratt, for one, is tired of hearing about it.
While promoting the upcoming Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the fan-favorite actor acknowledged, “People seem to be upset with Star-Lord,” demonstrating his talent not only for comedy but for understatement.

In the Marvel Studios blockbuster, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Star-Lord, Drax, Mantis and Nebula subdue Thanos on his home world Titan, and attempt to remove the Infinity Gauntlet. But just as victory is within the grasp of the heroes, Star-Lord learns the fate of Gamora and, in a rage, attacks the Mad Titan, inadvertently freeing him in the process.
Since the release of Infinity War, the once-beloved Peter Quill has been criticized by many fans for his unintentionally aiding Thanos in his goal of wiping out half of life in the universe, including many of the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo recently mounted a defense of Star-Lord, and now Pratt has taken his turn.
“Look, the guy watched his mother die, he watched as his father-figure died in his arms, he was forced to kill his own biological father,” he told Radio Times. “And now has suffered the loss of the love of his life. So I think he reacted in a way that’s very human, and I think the humanity of the Guardians of the Galaxy is what sets them apart from other superheroes. I think if we did it a hundred times, I wouldn’t change a thing. You know what I mean?”

Before anyone thinks Pratt takes any of this too seriously, he added, “I guess you could have the movie end a half-hour earlier if you wanted, but it seemed like people really liked this. And also, I blame Thanos, OK? Jeez, how come he’s not getting any blame? Clearly I’m very sensitive about this.”
