The Flash EP Reveals Nora West-Allen’s Time Period

SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for “We Are the Flash,” the Season 4 finale of The Flash.

The truth about The Flash‘s Mystery Girl has finally been revealed. In “We Are the Flash,” the Season 4 finale, she announced that she is Nora West-Allen, Barry and Iris’ daughter from the future. Now, thanks to executive producer Todd Helbing, we know exactly when she is from.

“Yeah, she comes from 30 years in the future, so 30 years from now, a lot has happened,” Helbing revealed to Entertainment Weekly. “She’s privy to information that nobody else is, so her experience in the future is certainly different than where everybody is now. A lot of next season too, you’re gonna see this relationship between Barry and Iris and Nora, so we just wanted to give the audience a little glimmer into what her reaction is to everybody. If you go back and watch all of the ways that she interacted with everybody, you can get a nice little sense of what her relationship is with everybody in the future.”

Since The Flash takes place in our current day, it’s pretty safe to assume that means Nora is from 2048. However, it’s unclear how old she is when she appears to Barry and Iris in the season finale. Jessica Parker Kennedy, who plays the character, is 33-years-old but — considering she is from 30 years in the future — she is likely playing younger than her actual age.

It’s worth mentioning that DC’s Legends of Tomorrow have visited the near future twice, once in 2042 and the other in 2046. Both times, they encountered a dystopian society overruled by fascist leaders like A.R.G.U.S. gone rogue and Deathstroke’s son Grant Wilson. Hopefully, for Nora’s sake, this isn’t the case in her future.

Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Joe West, and Tom Cavanagh as Harry Wells, with guest appearances from Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West and Hartley Sawyer as the Elongated Man.
