Sense8 Series Finale Trailer Released By Netflix

After two seasons, the Netflix original series Sense8 is coming to an end.

The streaming service has released a trailer for the upcoming two-hour special that will wrap up the Emmy Award-nominated sci-fi drama. The first look at the finale shows the Sensates banding together one last time to fight the BPO and protect the future of Sensates worldwide.

Although Sense8 received critical acclaim during its two-season run, Netflix canceled the series, citing high production costs. Due to vocal fan response, however, Netflix commissioned a two-hour finale, with co-creator Lana Wachowski expressing hope that it won’t be the definitive end to the drama.

Premiering on Netflix in 2015, Sense8 follows eight strangers around the world that find themselves linked mentally and emotionally. Dubbed “sensates”, the group discovers they are being hunted by the shadowy Biological Preservation Organization (BPO) while encountering other more hostile sensates. The ensemble learns they must work together and fight if they hope to stay alive.

Developed for Netflix by the Wachowskis (The Matrix trilogy) and J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5), Sense8 stars Toby Onwumere, Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton, Tina Desai, Tuppence Middleton, Max Riemelt, Miguel Angel Silvestre, and Brian J. Smith. The series finale will arrive June 8.
