More Captain Marvel Movie Roles May Have Been Confirmed

More supporting cast members for the upcoming Captain Marvel movie have been revealed.

According to That Hashtag Show, the previously cast McKenna Grace will play a young version of Carol Danvers in the movie. She will film alongside Kenneth Mitchell, who plays Carol’s father Joseph Danvers, in flashbacks set in the 1980s. Grace was announced as part of the cast in the film’s initial press announcement, but her role was never disclosed.

Along with Grace, Banshee actor Ana Ayora is said to be cast in a role that’s currently being kept under wraps. The recent casting continues the month of Captain Marvel news, as Oscar-winning actor Annette Benning joined the cast just last week.

Captain Marvel has been filming since March. Recent set videos confirm that two of the film’s action scenes involve a train battle and some kind of aircraft making a crash landing in California’s Lake Shaver. The running theory with the latter is that it may have something to do with Jude Law’s Mar-Vell, who winds up giving Carol her powers.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, and Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Algenis Perez Soto, McKenna Grace and Annette Bening in as-yet-undisclosed roles. The film arrives March 8, 2019.
