The first trailers for Pixar’s Incredibles 2 revealed that Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) is tasked with being the face of the supers as part of a new initiative to try to cast a positive light on masked crusaders. Of course, Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) has to adjust to life as a stay-at-home parent while his wife is off fighting crime. In a new sneak peek we get to see that, inevitably, Elastigirl comes up against a villain she’ll need help to fight — and her family is more than willing to suit up again and jump into action.
From the looks of the preview, Mr. Incredible and Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) head out to help Elastigirl after the villainous Screenslaver speaks out on the airwaves, declaring his control of the supers. But the kids won’t be left behind, and Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (Huck Milner) and Baby Jack-Jack steal mom and dad’s car and take off to help.
The film will feature many of the original 2004 film’s best characters, as well as introduce a few new up-and-coming supers like Sophia Bush’s Voyd, who isn’t quite at the Incredible family’s level of heroics but is eager to help. Complicating matters further is Jack-Jack’s emerging grab-bag of superpowers, none of which he can control all that well as an infant.
