Nominations for the MTV Movie & TV Awards were announced today, with Black Panther reigning king among movies with seven nominations, while Stranger Things received six nominations, leading the pack for TV shows.
Black Panther‘s seven nominations include Best Movie; Best On-Screen Team for Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira and Letitia Wright; Best Performance in a Movie and Best Hero for Boseman; Scene Stealer for Wright; Best Villain for Michael B. Jordan and Best Fight for Boseman and Winston Duke.

Stranger Things received nominations for Best Show; Best On-Screen Team for Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp and Sadie Sink; Best Performance in a Show for Millie Bobby Brown; Best Kiss for Wolfhard and Brown; Most Frightened Performance for Schnapp and Scene Stealer for Dacre Montgomery.
It was not only a big day for Black Panther, but also for a few other movies and TV shows based on comic books. Avengers: Infinity War, Wonder Woman and Riverdale all received three nominations, while Thor: Ragnarok received two. CW’s The Flash and FX’s Legion both picked up one nomination.
Fantasy and sci-fi were also heavily featured with IT, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Ready Player One, A Quiet Place, Game of Thrones and Black Mirror all picking up nominations.
