The teaser for “Of Two Minds,” next week’s episode of Supergirl, reveals that the appearance of Pestilence could spell disaster for Earth.
“You do not know what you’re up against,” Imra warns Kara at the start of the promo. “I’m from the future. The Blight happens. You fail.”

The teaser also shows Winn hospitalized. According to Mon-El, the disease is “100% fatal and extremely contagious.” Other clips in the video show Lena Luthor continuing her work to rid Sam of Reign, potentially teasing a redemptive arc for the character.

The show’s last episode, “In Search of Lost Time,” teased the appearance of Pestilence, the third Worldkiller. Pestilence — who will go on to become the Blight and destroy the planet of Winath in the future — wields the power of disease, which means she can cause her enemies to fall sick. It is unclear if Pestilence can use her powers against near-invulnerable Kryptonians and Martians.
Although Imra notes that Kara doesn’t stop the Blight in her future, The CW’s superhero shows The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow have emphasized the possibility of changing or otherwise altering the future, so there’s always the possibility that Imra’s future does not come to pass.
Airing Mondays at 8 p.m. on The CW, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, with appearances by Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
