The CW’s Riverdale clearly has a love for film and the creative arts. Earlier this season, an episode riffed on Pulp Fiction and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and this week Archie and friends take on Carrie: The Musical. And what better way to show they’re committed than with a music video set to “In” from the musical?
The primary cast all has a part to play in the here — Kevin Keller is directing the ordeal, while Cheryl Blossom steals the role from Josie — but a saboteur and the kids’ interpersonal hangups threaten the entire production. But that won’t stop them from singing and dancing their way through the episode, as the musically inclined members of the cast flex their muscles during the series’ first musical episode.
All plots this episode will be devoted to Carrie: Jughead will work to find out who at the school is putting the beloved musical in danger, and Alice will join to spend more time with her daughter Betty. Along with the musical clip above comes a behind-the-scenes video of the kids of Riverdale High singing “A Night We’ll Never Forget.” Following the airing of the episode, the soundtrack will be available to download or streaming.
