There’s fan art, and then there are fan art masterpieces. Designer BossLogic definitely finds himself as the creator of the latter with this captivating, labor-intensive piece of fan art, “The Last Shawarma.”
The image, both a reference to the famous da Vinci painting “The Last Supper” and the post-credits scene from 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers, in which the core group of Avengers are all eating shawarma after the big fight with Loki, features the main players in Avengers: Infinity War, including the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange and Wong, and Black Panther, Shuri and Okoye; seemingly sharing a meal before heading into battle with Thanos. Even Stan Lee has a cameo in the picture as the cook feeding shawarma to all of the superheroes. It’s a fun nod to the man who was the brain behind many of the characters that make Marvel what it is today.

The image is a feast for the eyes and the mind, since the more you look at it, the more you can create stories for the conversations happening in the image. What has Tony Stark told Peter Parker to make him raise his hand in irritated confusion? What is Star Lord telling Shuri and Okoye? What could Nebula and Mantis be huddled in the corner talking about? You can spend a good chunk of time staring and creating narratives for each of the characters.
You’ll be able to see all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe characters mentioned above in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War, which will be in theaters April 27.
