Fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead and its spinoff series Fear the Walking Dead have waited a long time for the two shows to crossover. Those dreams will become a reality in exactly one month. While some fans might be satisfied viewing this momentous occasion from home, not all are so content. Luckily, the big night will be shown on the big screen, and you can get your tickets sooner than you might expect.
Fathom Events and AMC today announced the Survival Sunday: The Walking Dead & Fear the Walking Dead event that will screen the Season 8 finale of The Walking Dead and Season 4 premiere of Fear The Walking Dead back-to-back. The episodes will be screened commercial-free at over 750 movie screens across the United States. The screenings will also include some bonus content, the exact nature of which has yet to be revealed.

“Sunday, April 15 marks an epic and highly-anticipated moment for these series, as worlds collide when Morgan crosses over from The Walking Dead and into the new world of Fear,” Theresa Beyer, SVP of brand activation at AMC, said in a press release. “We are thrilled to be working with our terrific partners at Fathom to provide fans from across the country the opportunity to experience this crossover moment in such a special way and among other members of one of television’s most passionate fan communities.”
The crossover event will focus on The Walking Dead character Morgan, played by Lennie James, who will make the traumatic transition to Fear the Walking Dead by the end of the night. Photos from the crossover episodes were revealed in January, but so far no one knows exactly what will propel Morgan to leave one show for the other. James himself has hinted that Morgan does get “really messed up” in the process, though.
