Marvel’s Luke Cage has found a new Season 2 villain in The Sopranos alum Annabella Sciorra, who will play Rosalie Carbone.
Entertainment Weekly describes the character as “a dangerous downtown criminal underworld power player with an eye, and an agenda, toward Harlem.”
“Anabella Sciorra is no joke as Rosalie Carbone,” showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker teased. “You haven’t seen her this gangster since her thrilling turn as Tony’s formidable flame Gloria Trillo on season 3 of The Sopranos. I’m thrilled her introduction to the Marvel Universe will be on Marvel’s Luke Cage.”

Created by Chuck Dixon and John Romita Jr., Rosalie Carbone debuted in 1992’s Punisher: War Zone #2. In the comics, she was a member of the Carbone crime family. She eventually took over her family’s mafia empire and used the resources at her disposal to hunt down Frank Castle, aka Punisher, after he infiltrated their origination and “betrayed” her when she fell in love with him. At the time of writing, it is unclear if the show’s version of Rosalie Carbone will have any connection to Frank Castle, who stars in his own Marvel Netflix series The Punisher.
In Marvel’s Luke Cage Season 2, after clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.
Arriving June 22 on Netflix, Luke Cage stars Mike Colter, Simone Missick, Alfre Woodard, Theo Rossi, Rosario Dawson, Mustafa Shakir and Gabrielle Dennis.
