Finally, the long awaited Flashpoint movie has its director. Or in this case, directors.

Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley have finally been confirmed as the folks who’ll be helming this Flash solo movie. First announced in 2014 as part of Warner Bros.’ initial slate of films for the DC Extended Universe, this film has been stuck in developmental hell ever since. Directors Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa both departed from the project and it was eventually pushed back from being released this March as the studio just couldn’t get it off the ground. This doesn’t seem to be the case now with Goldstein taking to Twitter with a GIF of Flash running up a cliff, captioned “It’s happening!”

With Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen being one of the few things that was well-received in Justice League, Goldstein and Daley were brought in after the duo impressed as writers of Spider-Man: Homecoming. They’re also responsible for the current comedy Game Night, with many fans praising their brand of levity, something Warner Bros. wants more of in the DCEU.

It seems that with a few rogues now being lined up as well for Flashpoint, things are picking up as Goldstein and Daley prep to have the Flash break the timestream while trying to save his mother from death at the hands of Eobard Thawne aka the Reverse Flash. It’s still to be confirmed if Batman, Wonder Woman and Cyborg will appear as initially planned, and just how drastic this alternate universe will become due to Flash’s temporal meddling.

Originally intended to hit theaters on March 16, 2018, when it was titled simply The Flash, the film currently has no release date.
