Stranger Things Brings Back Lucas’ Sister For Season 3 Role

Lucas Sinclair’s scene-stealing, syrup-loving little sister will return for the third season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, with an expanded role.

Variety reports that Priah Ferguson, who guest starred in Season 2 as the sass-talking Erica, will be thrust into the middle of the action in the upcoming season as she and her own group of friends find themselves “on a wild mission to save Hawkins from a dangerous new threat.”

Along with Ferguson’s promotion comes the addition of Maya Thurman-Hawke in a lead role as an “alternative girl” who, bored with her job, seeks some excitement in her life. Of course, Hawkins, Indiana, is more than willing to oblige.

The announcements follow descriptions that surfaced earlier this week for a trio of new characters expected to be introduced in the third season: Mayor Larry Kline, a news reporter named Bruce, and neighborhood elder Patricia Brown. How they, or Thurman-Hawke’s “alternative girl,” play into the larger plot remains to be seen.

However, fans will undoubtedly be pleased that they’ll get to see Erica keep everyone in check with such observations as, “You are such a nerd; no wonder you only hang out with boys,” and “Bunch o’ nerds.” The Upside Down won’t stand a chance.

Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler and Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers. The first two seasons are available now on Netflix.
