Mulan fans aren’t going to be able to see their favorite hero until 2020 thanks to a shift in Disney’s film schedule.
According to Variety, Disney has announced that the live-action version of the popular 1998 animated film will be released in theaters on March 27, 2020 instead of its initial release date of Nov. 2, 2018.

The live-action film will have some big changes from the animated version, namely that Captain Li Shang might not be in the film, with the void filled by a new character, “Chen Honghui.” Originally, the film was on a even worse path by initially not including the classic songs from the film (thankfully, this has been rectified). Chinese megastar Liu Yifei is set to star in the title role.
This isn’t the only film Disney has shuffled around. The studio has also taken its Anna Kendrick-starring lady Santa Claus film, Nicole, from its roster. Before the update, the film was supposed to come out Nov. 8, 2019 and focus on Santa Claus’ daughter taking over the reins after her dad retires and her brother chickens out.
