Long a subject of fan speculation, Cheetah reportedly could indeed be the villain of the sequel to director Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman.
According to That Hashtag Show, Warner Bros. had wanted Emma Stone in the role of the classic DC Comics foe, but the Oscar winner ultimately turned down the offer. There’s no word on yet on who else the studio might be eyeing for Cheetah.

Introduced in the Wonder Woman comic in 1943, Cheetah has appeared in four incarnations over the past 75 years. That Hashtag Show suggests the Warner Bros. sequel will feature Barbara Ann Minerva, a British anthropologist who becomes the avatar of a cheetah god after mistakenly finding her way into an ancient ritual.
The working title of “Magic Hour” has led some to speculate that Circe will be the primary antagonist in Wonder Woman 2.
