Get ready to experience the Speed Force like never before, as the synopsis for the 15th episode of The Flash‘s fourth season promises to introduce to the series mythology a concept called “Flashtime.”
In the appropriately titled episode “Enter Flashtime,” Barry Allen will team up with Jay Garrick and Jesse Quick to race against time to save Central City from a nuclear explosion. All three speedsters will go into super-speed mode and enter what is called “Flashtime.”

The description indicates that a significant portion of the episode will occur in super-speed, in which we will only see the events from the point of view of Barry, Jay and Jesse as they move around while everyone else is standing still. Although the name “Flashtime” hasn’t been used before, many Flash stories — from the DC Comics series to the animated Justice League — have featured this trope. However, it will be the first time that The CW’s The Flash will set an episode in that aspect of the Speed Force.

As everyone in the city is frozen, the three speedsters push themselves to the breaking point to save the city and everyone in it. Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Joe West, with guest appearances from Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West and Hartley Sawyer as the Elongated Man.
