The emergence last week of new character breakdowns certainly suggested Marvel’s The Punisher would soon begin production on its second season, but now we know precisely when.

The Netflix drama is expected to begin on-set work on Feb. 26, and wrap production on July 20, according to Spoiler TV. It’s too soon to speculate what that means for the release of The Punisher‘s second season, as it’s last in the pipeline of Marvel’s Netflix series: Jessica Jones returns for Season 2 on March 8, and Luke Cage has already wrapped production on its second season. Daredevil Season 2 and Iron Fist Season 2 are now filming.
Two character descriptions for The Punisher Season 2 seem to indicate an adaptation, however loose, of Garth Ennis’ 2005-06 Marvel Comics arc “The Slavers.” Showrunner Steve Lightfoot has also expressed his love for the villain Barracuda, so it’s possible that character might make an appearance this season.
